FLOODING?Reply: Hugh
In 18 years we've never experienced what we would call flooding in the RAGLM area. But, that doesn't mean it hasn't happened. There are those rare occasions when we get enormous rainfall but it's extremely rare.

In my opinion, for what it's worth, proper grading of the areas around your property to divert excessive water flow is the best solution. Clearing obstructions from (2' and larger) pipes under driveways, and natural drainage paths will help enormously. Don't expect much from the Drainage Task Force unless the problem is directly a County issue.

Ten free sandbags will do as much good in preventing flooding as they would in preventing the overflow of feces from the White House.

Potential Flooding Post: Sandy
If you live in an unincorporated area and are concerned that your property may flood, call the Riverside Emergency Management Department's Drainage Task Force at 951-955-2004 for help.
Also, you can get 10 free sandbags from fire station #4 and then learn how to properly fill them by watching the video at www.RCFlood.org.
