Assembly Bill No. 1266

Pupil rights: sex-segregated school programs and activities.

(f) A pupil shall be permitted to participate in sex-segregated school programs and activities, including athletic teams and competitions, and use facilities consistent with his or her gender identity, irrespective of the gender listed on the pupil’s records.

Yes, that means after soccer practice, etc. your daughters will be in the locker-room and showering with boys who claim they identify themselves as girls (and vice versa.)  This may sound extreme but unbelievably it is new California law, signed by Gov. Brown Aug. 12th 2013.

FYI- Our Lake Mathews area Reps (Melendez-R & Roth-D) both Voted NO.

Passed Senate Floor 21-9

Passed Assembly Floor 46-25

The Redlands Tea Party Patriots is one group currently working to get this bill repealed.

They're working with the Privacy For All Students Coalition in its effort to obtain about a half-million signatures by Nov. 12.

If the necessary signatures are gathered, the law, set to take effect Jan. 1, will be delayed a year and the referendum will be added to the November 2014 ballot allowing voters to approve or strike down the law.
