Rally for wild horses/Tues. Feb. 22-PasadenaPost: Cindy Ferry
I have gotten this from more than one resident, so I'm copying and pasting it here, in case there are others interested in attending.
Can you attend a rally for the wild horses and our 1st Amendment rights (date, time and address at bottom of this page). Please pass this along to anyone who might be interested in attending.

Without a free press able to operate as intended by our First Amendment Rights, our system of democracy fails. And it is failing now.
LEIGH V. SALAZAR is based 100% on violations of First Amendment rights. Laura Leigh is a journalist and videographer whose work covers wild horse issues. Leigh’s suit champions the public’s right and her own right to reasonable access to observe all aspects of the government’s handling of our wild horses.
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), which is under the Department of the Interior, led by Secretary Ken Salazar, is putting our publicly owned wild horses on private property in both short and long term holding facilities, and denying any access to us (the public). The BLM also severely limits the public’s observation at roundups.
The BLM goes through tremendous gymnastics to control content of what the public knows and can see.
On Monday, February 14, 2011, an emergency appeal was filed in the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit by journalist Laura Leigh v Ken Salazar. We need the 9th Circuit Court to hear us.
Please help our wild horses and join the fight for our First Amendment Rights by attending this rally:

DATE: Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011
TIME: 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.
PLACE: The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals (at the Richard H. Chambers Courthouse)
125 S. Grand Ave., Pasadena, CA 91105

Meet us on the sidewalk in front of the building. Feel free to make your own signs (please stress 1st Amendment rights - like “Why the secrecy?” or “We have a right to know”) Signs will also be available at the rally.
