New MembersReply: Hugh
I thought you were referring to "NEW MEMBERS" not the total number of members. What is it I'm missing? Allow me this: provide the number of new dues paying members over the last two weeks? That's fair. Isn't it?

I understand that I might be a thorn. However, all I'm asking for is factual information before I pay dues to RAGLAM. I hope that is not out of line.

In my world (doesn't mean it's yours) I would like to think that the RAGLM Board Members would be proud of their position. But, no photos. What does that say? I would like also to think a community organization would be proud to display the names of individuals that support the community. Is there something that needs to be hidden?

Thank You KepStrReply: Hugh
KepStr - I am in total agreement. But to put it to a vote of the community as apposed to RGLAM - probably won't happen. RAGLM rarely accepts contradictory posts. They are seen as attacks.

Here is my question: Just who does RAGLM represent? Our total community (Lake Mathews, Gavilan Hills, Gavilan Springs) or the chosen ones - Board members?

Nathan - don't bypass this post. Is RAGLM serving everyone or a select few?

Complete miscalculationReply: Nathan
I apologize, it was a complete miscalculation on my part. What I meant to say was 1 member every 7 days. 904 days online divided by 137 members. Again, simple miscalculation sorry for that.

Free-flowing Discussion posts.Reply: KepSter
7 new member's per day?  That's good.  Why does the statistic state 137 members?  Are those paid members or web accounts?

As far as opening the site, you could limit it to one Discussion thread, and people would have to register before they could post or see anything in that thread.  Should'nt the community get to have a say in what they would like to see on the Web site, or does the board decide that for the community?  I thought the board responded to what the community wants, so what's the hurt in asking the people that come to the monthly meetings what they would want?  I think when people rant and rave, it is sometimes easy to see the obserdity in it, or sometimes, the brilliance that comes from it.  Nothing great is ever created when creativity is stiffled.

open forum concernsReply: newmanpenny
I was wondering if there was a setting to change the email updates that I get from this site. I got about 20 emails yesterday with all the arguing about the signs.
I agree that we should not be restricted in what we can say. Why not just start a facebook group for the area for less restricted chat about the area?

Open ForumReply: Nathan
Thanks for the idea. Unfortunately at this time the board has decided to run the forum's in the current manner. We have had many comments in the past about other community sites and how they did not present facts and that they were mostly opinions and arguments. With the input from the community and the mission of RAGLM, we choose to stay on the path of information. We also believe it is working based on our site statistics, we have an average of 7 new members sign up per day. Thanks again for the idea. Please keep them coming as we always like to hear from the community.

I call for a vote to open a section of the Forum as uncensoredPost: KepSter
I see from time to time complaints about the posting guidlines and it's constraint on posts being put up.  I think a vote should be taken by the site users and community members as to whether a private forum could be created where censorship can be kept at a minimum.  People would enjoy more free flowing posts because there would be no delay in posts going live.  Inappropriate things could be taken down as soon as someone got around to it.  Profanity could be flagged for the most part and redacted.  I think with people enjoying the site more, more will come, and more will donate money for a membership.  Give the paying members access to the restricted area to post.  Trust me, this is what the site needs, and our community can raise money to support our causes.
