Hello all! As you know, my husband works for All American Asphalt, the company doing the work on Gavilan Rd. He tells me that tomorrow/Friday will a bitch for residents and that it will be better for folks to take Lake Mathews Dr., if you don't live in the Gavilan Park (the mobile home park) itself. They will have only one lane open and this will mean traffic hold-ups all day. With concrete being poured, they cannot allow cars over that area until it is safe to drive on. This will mean one lane ... one, for both directions. This means hold-ups ALL day! So, if you can take Lake Mathews Dr. and get to where you need to be, you may well want to do that. If you have someone coming to your place, you are advised to direct them via Lake Mathews Drive. If you live in Gavilan Park (the mobile home park) you may want to turn on Pinion (first street into the Gavilan Park, from Harford Springs Park), take it down until it dead-ends and turn right. Take Oak St. down to wherever you need to go or to Hildalgo Dr. and back out onto Gavilan Rd. Please remember that there are NO stop signs in Gavilan Park and therefore it would be VERY WISE to stop or slow down considerably before crossing any cross streets within Gavilan Park. Stay safe and I hope this helps all get around with the least number of problems as we all welcome the improvements to Gavilan Rd.
