I'm sure there are government dept. out there that could direct you to one, if there are. If I hear of any, I'll let you know.

Is anyone aware of any program that might assist low income families with obtaining these?  I appreciate any help.

Mandatory July 1, 2011/Carbon Monoxide DetectorsPost: Cindy Ferry
Lisa Canavier, community resident, active member of our community, volunteer for the RAGLM sign committee (putting up the monthly community meeting signs) and Real Estate Agent in our area sent me one of her business postcards, informing me of the ready to go into effect regulation for mandatory carbon monoxide detectors in our homes. This will go into effect July 1, 2011, so we all need to make sure we are in compliance ... ESPECIALLY if you have rental properties. Your insurance company will require this and you risk you policy being voided if a related problems pops up and you don't have the detectors. Lisa was kind enough to give the Fire Department web site link for the list of approved detectors. I've gone to the site and checked it out. Now all of you need to do the same. Protect yourself, protect your family and protect your investment in your home or your rental properties. As Lisa states in her information card, if you have an attached garage, natural gas or propane furnace-range or oven or if you have a wood-burning fireplace, you MUST have these carbon monoxide detectors in the home.
The association I belong to for rental property investors covered this in our monthly magazine, but I do thank Lisa for sending this important information out to all of us. I wanted to make sure that if you didn't get her postcard in the mail or just didn't read it, that you are aware of this new law.
