dog license issuesReply: Beverley
I may not be the only one up here that did not know this, so I will pass on that all dogs now must be microchipped prior to receiving their license or license renewal and of course have current rabies certificate.  I had a very good experience taking my 2 dogs to the Mary S. Roberts center last Saturday to meet the current compliance.  It was affordable and you can also get your vaccines including rabies as needed.  I believe they only have the clinic on Saturdays and getting there early is helpful.  I am told the SPCA on Van Buren also has low cost services.  So, don't wait like I did and get your dog microchip done prior to license renewal date.

Pet Sterilization OrdinancePost: SteveS

Lake Mathews residents ALERT!

If you own a Pit-bull or Pit-bull Mix dog over 4mo old you are now required by law to sterilize your pet. Failure to comply may result in an infraction/misdemeanor charge fines/penalties.

"We tend to see that many owners of pit bulls are not responsible," said Supervisor John Tavaglione, who joined his colleagues in a 5-0 vote to move the proposed ordinance forward. Yes, a unanimous vote by all supervisors.

Apparently it applies only to unincorporated areas?
