Hi Cindy,

I just wanted to let you know what our inspectors found last week.

The 2 properties that looked like they were discharging greywater were actually just pumping natural spring water from their backyard into the street. It was confirmed to not be greywater. So far we have checked about 6 homes that were suspected to be in violation and only found 1.

The water table is very high in that area- like you said. It is a difficult situation for the residents, I wouldn’t want to encourage them to allow standing water on their property, no matter what the source, so as to not allow mosquito breeding. On the other hand, the road is certainly taking a beating from the water.

If you do get any other addresses of suspected greywater violations, please let us know. We will continue to address all greywater and septic failure complaints.

In the meantime, we are trying to get a meeting together between the agencies involved to address the issues so that this situation can be resolved. I did drive by over the weekend and it seemed to be better, although it is supposed to rain this weekend, which may contribute to the water runoff more.

Thank you

Dottie
