It's all part of the plan - March Air Force Base 2nd Largest Transit Hub in the U.S.A.Reply: Cindy Ferry
For those of us that have been attending meetings, hearings and so on for all these many years, some of us attended a private meeting with a company hired to plan out Riverside Counties future.  They told told us and showed us the plans and the maps.  We were told that if you didn't have a degree, you won't be living or working in Riverisde, CA.  That's not this type of job.  But, they also went on to tell us that March will become the second largest transportation hub in all the United States.  This is why the train tracks are being lifted, so that that the trains can move more goods from Long Beach and other areas to March.  The trains will go up and the traffic will go under and all will keep moving 24/7.  The plains coming in and out of March will be come a full time thing, day and night, seven days a week.  March and Riverside will be paid by weight and are granted a given weight per year.  If that isn't made, who pays the difference?  You got it, the residents of Riverside County.  We found this out when the lie about the weight of the plains came out about five or six years ago.  Freeways will be
expanded to keep the trucks moving and lanes will be created, have been created and more will be created for trucks only. This is to keep them moving, keep the cars out of their way and time is money and those goods must get to their location on time.
You think you can see the air your breathe now, just wait!

WarehousesReply: Sandy

I agree! We do not need another warehouse, especially one this large. Mira Loma has some of the worst air pollution in the natlon due to all the trucks. Is that we want here?  Say NO to this warehouse!

Mega Warehouses Post: Roy
The Press Enterprise had a story recently that a mega warehouse is being proposed.  http://www.pe.com/local-news/riverside-county/moreno-valley/moreno-valley-headlines-index/20120421-moreno-valley-proposed-warehouse-project-draws-responses.ece

The World Logistics Center, as developer Benzeevi is naming it, would house 41.6 million square feet.  This would dwarf current giants such as Sketchers, which is already an imposing 1.8 million square feet.

Is this truly what we want for our lifestyles, our employment, our roadways, and our landscape?  Like you, I have been traveling Cajalco at the 215 fwy and nearby areas, and have seen truck after truck squeezing on and off the freeway and streets.  It is already a strain on our roads and quality of life.

They will counter, these warehouses bring our valley badly needed employment.  Firstly, the Sketchers warehouse brought fewer jobs than promised.  Mostly it siphoned jobs from Ontario warehouses, and consolidated them here.  Such warehouses remove other possibilities, such as small businesses, schools, communities, from using land or even wishing to be near.  I believe these warehouses  are disastrous for our economy in the long term.  They promote foreign industry and act as an impediment to our own production of goods for our own consumption or export.

Enough already with the warehouses.  Planners, rethink these plans.  This is not my vision of America or California's future, and I hope others agree that we can do better than this.
