You Might Not Like This So Do Not ReadReply: Hugh
WARNING - this may be something you don't want to read.
STOP - content may be controversial - Read at your own risk.
DANGER AHEAD - political content.

It's always been amazing to me how the few want to dictate to the many. The concept has always been difficult for me to comprehend, especially as I get older. My understanding is we all have a certain level of choices. If there is something written, posted in a forum or whatever that is of no interest to me I have the opportunity to not read it. Or, if we don't agree we can respond accordingly to express our point of view.

Now we're down to wanting the TITLE, not just the content, of posts to fit the need of a few. My two remaining brain cells have a real quandary with that. They are telling me, "Huston, we have a problem."

Forum posting titlesReply: Anne
I agree, Laurie. I have hard time figuring out what thread the post refers to, when it has a vague title. Some posts, say on the Water District rules, for example, have several posts that I may not be interested in. So I'd like to delete without having to go to the post to see what it is about.

The title line told it allReply: MayorShinn
If you are posting with regards to the political controversy thread then you should have noticed the original post was very clear in the title....."Attorney General Holder Playing God Again - Silly US"

I would like to suggest that the title of all posts be more specific about the subject in discussion.

Titles such as "I agree" or "Thanks" or "County" or similiar in a comment's title doesn't give enough information as to the thread that the comment/discussion is in.  It works for those who are specifically logging in to scan the forums and know what the original subject matter is/was, but for those who are responding to an email link taking them to a new comment in a discussion, there is no way to know if it is a subject that they wish to read or participate in before they are in the discussion itself.

I bring this up because there have been suggestions by some to the effect of "if you don't like this, don't read it".

Not easy to choose when the subject in an email is vague.  All that appears in the email notification of a new comment is the title given to the new comment.  I think it might help everyone, if the title for each new comment lends some hint as to the subject under discussion.
